Endacopia Characters
Character guide for Endacopia: who Mellow is, every confirmed character from Tip to The Chameleon, which conversations matter, and how dialogue feeds the endings.
Mellow — The Protagonist
Mellow is the young boy you play for the entire game. Steam's official description frames the whole story around him: he has lost all his senses and is trying to escape an uncomfortable home. What you see matches that framing — Mellow is a short, white, limbless little figure with floating hands, big bug-eyes, a red baseball cap and a blue button-up shirt. He has no mouth, except when he talks.
Under the hood he's written as a curious, surprisingly capable kid: he solves the game's puzzles, climbs through vents, hides, and — in one of the game's tonal whiplashes — wins actual fistfights. He also has amnesia (the community wiki attributes it to being bonked one time too many by Henry), and notably he can't read, which quietly explains a lot about how much of the world he's locked out of.

How Dialogue Choices Work
Endacopia never labels a line as “important”. In practice, conversations matter in two ways: they update after events — Timesville's shifting clock makes this literal, since villagers react to the time of day — and some outcomes are quietly remembered later. A small, real example of the game tracking what you say: when the subject of Tip comes up, Mellow says he “prefers mouth-less signs”, then changes his mind after feeling guilty about it. Nothing flags that moment; the game just remembers who Mellow is becoming, which is exactly what feeds the ending routes.
⚠️ Spoiler — dialogue habits that affect your run
- Re-talk after everything. Dialogue pools refresh after puzzles, area changes, and (in Timesville) every shift of the clock. If a character had nothing new before an event, they usually do after.
- Let Mellow be Mellow — but know it's tracked. Guilt and correction moments like the Tip exchange exist; the game logs the arc, not just the line.
- Keep a save before story beats. No prompt marks a “choice”, so the only protection for route hunters is a manual save — see the endings guide for what's confirmed about branching.
